At Goodlawyer, our sales process is designed to efficiently match skilled lawyers with clients in need of fractional legal support. Our structured approach ensures that both lawyers and clients receive the best experience possible, from initial conversations to ongoing support. Here’s how it works:
- Joining the Network: Once we mutually agree that you would like to join the Goodlawyer network, we collect details on your background, expertise, and availability. This helps our Sales & Lawyer Experience teams effectively market your practice and identify the right mandates for you.
- Matching Readiness: Through our talent database, Lawyers remain on our radar with filters and triggers to identify best fit mandates, ensuring an efficient and seamless transition into practice with Goodlawyer.
- Set-Up Support: We provide guidance on essential solo practice requirements, such as GST/HST registration, business banking, and insurance.
- Client Discovery: Our Sales team engages with prospective clients to understand their needs, timeline, and budget, ensuring we find the best talent fit.
- Lawyer Matching: The Sales & Lawyer Experience teams identify and propose a curated slate of best-fit lawyers (typically three candidates) to the client, first confirming the lawyers availability and interest in the engagement before including them on the slate. This ensures we present only lawyers who are ready and well-suited for the opportunity. Jointly, Sales and LX teams are able to address client concerns and needs from the sales perspective and legal subject matter expertise.
- Interview Prep: Our Lawyer Experience team helps prepare candidates that have been selected for an interview, empowering you with talking points to highlight your specific value and aligning you with key client expectations uncovered during our discovery process.
- Interview Support: Our Sales team joins the client interview to highlight your value proposition, while handling pricing discussions separately.
- Engagement Agreements & Onboarding: For the selected candidate, two agreements are prepared: (a) a Master Services Agreement (MSA) with Goodlawyer and Statement of Work (SOW) agreements for each engagement to set out the framework for how we'll work together, and (b) a three-way agreement between the client, lawyer, and Goodlawyer for the specific mandate you've won. Note: While we try to update all candidates throughout the process, this is not always possible given the volume and speed of in-flight mandates. If you have questions on the status of the opportunity, you can reach out to the Sales or Lawyer Experiences team for updates. Two onboarding phases: (a) Our Account Management team ensures a smooth onboarding and integration for you and the client, including introductions, tools, and meeting structures. (b) Additionally, our Account Management and Product teams onboard you to the Goodlawyer Fractional App to support your mandate management and get you connected to the Goodlawyer community.
- Ongoing Support & Growth: Our Account Management team plays an active role in engagement health to ensure both you and the client are enjoying working together and supporting your continued practice growth. As every lawyer’s capacity evolves over time, our Sales team will continue identifying potential great fit mandates or additional lawyer support for you until you reach your desired workload.
